Thank You to all those who attended the Annual Meeting of the Congregation!
What wonderful words these are, on Easter Sunday, and every day here at United Lutheran Church. They are wonderful because we believe in the miracle of Christ's resurrection. We believe in the hope and inspiration these words provide us in troubled times, realizing that God's peace and joy are ours. But sadly, we all live in a Good Friday world; war, pain, hunger, grief, and suffering are reflected in our families, our neighborhood, and our society. At United Lutheran, we are Easter people who not only believe God's promise, but are comitted to making a difference in Tacoma and our world. For example, every Wednesday, Our Father's Kitchen Food Bank continues to feed those who need it in our neighborhood. Stop by for a free lunch between noon and two o'clock p.m. While King's Kids PreSchool provides a firm foundation for the younger children, KidReach offers tutoring for students at Birney Elementary. Additionally, we host Brownies, Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts , AA, AlAnon, and community athletic activities in our gym. Our reach extends further through our chapter of the Women of the ELCA, who actively support Lutheran World Relief with countless quilts and health kits.
